Who is Rose McArthur:
Director of Decay?

Rose McArthur’s career includes Olympic credentials, but there are no medals for presiding over the steady ruin of Chester’s roads and pavements. Perhaps Australia, having seen the state of their own infrastructure under her watch, made the strategic decision to send her as far away as possible. Now, Chester bears the consequences.

Under her leadership, our roads crumble, our pavements crack, and historic streets are patched together with all the care of a rushed DIY job. Road closures drag on for months, and repairs seem designed more for repeat business than long-term fixes.

McArthur’s title may be Director of Highways & Transport, but her real legacy is a city where pedestrians pick their steps like they’re walking through a minefield and motorists play pothole roulette. If maintaining Chester’s infrastructure was the job, she’s failing spectacularly.

Oh yes, and she's paid £108,209 per annum.

And don't forget CWAC's annual contribution to her pension of £21,462. That's more than a lot of people in Chester are even paid.

Add in NI and the rest of her public flunkey benefits and the total is probably over £200,000.

Of your money.

And for what?

🚧 Chester deserves better. Hold her—and CWAC—to account. 🚧
